Cloud, DevOps and Data Engineering in Dubai

QuantumBlock delivers cloud migration services in Dubai from our own Meydan Free Zone office: moving workloads into AWS me-central-1, Azure UAE North or Google me-central2, Kubernetes and CI/CD, cost governance, and data platforms that turn a DIFC or mainland company's operational data into dashboards leaders actually trust, hosted inside the UAE where PDPL and free-zone rules expect it.

We reply on WhatsApp within one business hour (Sunday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 Gulf time) and within 24 hours otherwise.

The cost of getting this wrong

What getting Cloud, DevOps and Data Engineering wrong costs you

The Ramadan spike nobody rehearsed

The Ramadan spike nobody rehearsed

A Meydan retailer's checkout buckles on the first evening of a Ramadan sale, because the newly migrated environment was sized against an ordinary Tuesday and nobody tested it against the traffic pattern that actually matters.

The partner demo that loaded slowly and raised a residency question

The partner demo that loaded slowly and raised a residency question

A logistics operator shows a government-adjacent partner its new tracking portal, the pages crawl because the stack sits in a distant region, and the partner's first question is why their data leaves the UAE at all.

The Blueprint target the board cites, the pipeline that cannot prove it

The Blueprint target the board cites, the pipeline that cannot prove it

Leadership repeats Dubai's own AI productivity targets in every board update, while the data platform behind those numbers still cannot produce a clean report without someone manually reconciling three spreadsheets first.

A Meydan retail brand migrates its store platform ahead of Ramadan, expecting the busiest sales month of the year, and the checkout buckles on opening night. The new environment had been sized against an ordinary Tuesday's traffic, because nobody had asked what a genuine Gulf peak, Ramadan evenings, a national day sale, a utility billing cycle, actually looks like on the graphs. The migration technically succeeded weeks earlier. The business only found out it had failed on the one night that mattered.

The second failure shows up in front of a partner, not a finance team. A logistics operator connects its tracking portal to a government-adjacent partner through the partner's APIs, and the stack behind it happens to sit in a region a continent away. Pages that felt fine in the office load slowly on the partner's screen during the demo that was supposed to close the partnership, and the partner's compliance lead then asks why their shipment data is stored outside the UAE at all, a question nobody on the operator's side had an answer for.

The third cost is a gap between what leadership says and what the platform can prove. A Dubai board keeps citing the emirate's own AI productivity targets in its updates, but pulling the numbers those targets are measured against still means someone manually reconciling three spreadsheets that each define the same metric differently. The ambition is real. The plumbing underneath it was never built to support it.

A different way to buy engineering

Migrate in waves, keep it inside the UAE, measure everything

We never move a Dubai client's systems in one heroic weekend. Workloads go in small waves, each with a rollback plan, onto infrastructure written as code in a UAE region.

The cost baseline recorded in week one, from our Meydan office, is the yardstick every later decision is measured against, so a Dubai finance team always has a number to check the migration against.

A cost baseline before, a rollback plan for every wave, and runbooks your own Dubai team can use after.

Migrate in waves, keep it inside the UAE, measure everything

We size for the peak that actually matters, not an average Tuesday. Before anything moves, we ask what a genuine Gulf traffic pattern looks like for your business, a religious holiday sale, a government partner's onboarding wave, a payment cycle tied to a utility or municipal system, and build the landing zone in a UAE region such as Azure UAE North or AWS me-central-1 to survive that specific day, written as code in Terraform so the same environment can be torn down and rebuilt for a rehearsal before it ever meets real customers.

Where a build has to talk to government or utility APIs, the pipeline and its data sit inside a UAE region, not wherever a default account happened to land, because slow pages and data stored abroad are the difference between a partnership demo that lands and one that does not. On the data side, we build the pipeline before we build the dashboard: Spark, Databricks, BigQuery or Kafka pulling from your operational systems and defining each metric once, so that when a board asks for the number behind an AI productivity target, the answer takes minutes, not a week of manual reconciliation.

We are equally honest about what should stay put. A stable legacy system with a few good years left, or a database that would need a rewrite to justify moving, often does not belong in this migration at all, and the inventory we run in week one exists partly to find those and leave them alone. If the real open question is whether to move at all, an IT consulting engagement answers that first, before any infrastructure changes. For the wider Dubai picture, see our Dubai location page.

How it works

How the engagement runs, week by week

  1. Week 1

    Inventory, dependencies, cost baseline

We map every server, database, integration and scheduled job, find the dependencies nobody wrote down, and record what you pay today so every later decision has a number next to it.

  2. Weeks 2 to 3

    Landing zone, security, CI/CD

Accounts, networks, identity, encryption and logging are built as code in your chosen UAE or KSA region, with pipelines that deploy the same way every time and a security baseline in place before any data moves.

  3. Weeks 4 to 6

    Migrate in waves with rollback

Workloads move in small waves, least critical first, each with a tested rollback plan and a cut-over window agreed with your team. Nothing moves in one big weekend.

  4. Week 7

Optimise cost and hand over runbooks

We right-size what was over-provisioned, set budgets and alerts, and hand over runbooks, diagrams and access so your team can operate the platform without us.

Fit

Who this is for

  • A Meydan or DMCC retailer or e-commerce operator whose real traffic peak is a religious or national holiday, not an ordinary weekday, and whose current setup has never been tested against it.
  • A logistics or mobility company integrating with government or utility APIs, whose partner expects fast pages and data kept inside the UAE.
  • Dubai leadership that keeps citing AI or productivity targets in board updates without a data platform that can produce the numbers behind them on demand.
  • Not for you if you need a 24/7 on-site infrastructure team or hardware support inside your own server room. We work on cloud and code, not on racks.

Deliverables

What you get

What a Dubai cloud engagement should leave running, not just migrated

Whether the work is a migration, a DevOps setup or a data platform, you keep infrastructure proven against your real conditions:

  • A landing zone in a UAE region, load tested against your actual Gulf peak, not a generic traffic assumption.
  • Any integration with government, utility or partner APIs wired through infrastructure inside a UAE region, so pages stay fast and data stays in the country.
  • Pipelines that define each business metric once, so a board request for a number takes minutes rather than a spreadsheet reconciliation.
  • A migration plan executed in small, rehearsed waves, each with a rollback plan and a cut-over window agreed on Gulf time.
  • CI/CD pipelines for your applications and infrastructure, covering both testing and production environments.
  • A cost report comparing before and after, with budgets and alerts owned by name, not left to whoever notices the invoice.
  • Runbooks, architecture diagrams and every account sitting under your Dubai company's name, with managed DevOps available if you want it kept running.

Questions buyers ask us

Which cloud region should a Dubai company use?

For most Dubai companies, AWS me-central-1 or Azure UAE North, both inside the UAE, with Google me-central2 in Dammam an option for Gulf-wide workloads. The right choice depends on your existing licences and where your regulators are.

Is the migration team actually in Dubai?

The engagement is led from our Meydan Free Zone office, where the migration and cut-over plan are owned. The migration engineers work from Yerevan, in the same time zone as Dubai.

What does cloud migration cost for a Dubai business?

We do not publish prices. After a short inventory call you get a fixed quote within 2 business days, whether that call happens on WhatsApp or at our Meydan office.

How do you avoid downtime during a Dubai company's migration?

By migrating in small waves with data replicated ahead of time, a tested rollback plan for each wave, and cut-overs scheduled in agreed low-traffic windows on Gulf time.

Can a DIFC entity keep data inside the UAE the whole time?

Yes. We build the landing zone in AWS me-central-1 or Azure UAE North from the start, so data never has to leave the UAE during or after the migration, which matters while UAE PDPL's executive regulations remain pending.

What is a data platform versus a dashboard, for a Dubai business?

A dashboard shows numbers. A data platform is what makes those numbers trustworthy: pipelines that pull data from your systems, clean it, define each metric once and keep history, so a Dubai board sees one number, not three.

Do you provide managed DevOps after a Dubai migration?

Yes. We can run the platform for you with monitoring, patching, cost reviews and on-call support on Gulf time, or hand it to your Dubai team with runbooks and training.

Can you reduce our current Dubai cloud bill?

Usually. Most bills carry idle resources, oversized instances and forgotten storage. We start with a cost review against your usage and show each saving with its effort and risk before changing anything.
